PRAY SC is a statewide prayer initiative of One HOPE SC with the support of the 1981 National Champion Clemson Tigers.

Then, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

We call on the collective Church of South Carolina to do what it is most equipped to do, to pray- to intercede on behalf of educators, staff and administrators, students and families of South Carolina for protection, tools and change necessary to create healthy and productive environments for growth in our schools.

STATEWIDE LEADERSHIP:

Chaplain-Van Arrington, Cornerback Clemson 1981 National Championship Team, Pastor, The Fathers House, Horry County

PRAY SC Initiative Leader- Candice Hilse, Executive Director, One HOPE SC

State Ambassador- Carl Martin, Strong Safety Clemson 1981 National Championship Team, Growth Strategist, Savannah River Baptist Association

LOCALIZED SUPPORT LEADERSHIP:

We are engaging a chaplain and/or lay coordinator from each county to liaise between our organization and the churches and ministries in their respective communities for ongoing training, care and communication to support long term success.

OUR FIRST MILE: COLLECTIVE, COMMUNITY DRIVEN PRAYER

We will enlist 138 South Carolina churches praying for every marker of success in a child’s life and educational journey beginning in August 2026.

We seek commitment from a minimum of 3 churches from each of the 46 Counties of South Carolina to pray for South Carolina Education and will provide a foundational prompt and scripture framework communities can utilize and make their own.

Collectively, we will pray daily for 138 days beginning August 16- a Sunday, where we practice the full rhythm of worship and prayer; praising God for what he has, is and will do for our children and their future in South Carolina.

OUR SECOND MILE: RELATIONSHIP AND SERVICE

We seek to mobilize a care group from each church to serve their local school until every school is covered. The representative churches and ministries will complete the following to best serve:

  1. Appoint a community liaison

  2. Teacher Love Project training

  3. Connect and meet with school administrative leadership for permission and understanding

  4. Follow the Teacher Love Project methodology

  5. Engage in serve opportunities requested and presented by their respective schools

OUR THIRD MILE: COMMUNITY CONNECTIVITY AND SERVICE

We want to support and elevate your work in your community and through your ministry beyond Sunday.

  1. Collect information on what is working

  2. Share your stories and expertise with others across the state

  3. Leverage your efforts with the skills and resources of others in your county

  4. Connect us with leaders in your community to maximize impact
