A Thank You for a Legacy

One HOPE SC announces Legacy Advisorship

One Hope SC is a new statewide initiative designed to encourage prayer, strengthen leaders, and support communities across South Carolina through a Gospel-centered approach to transformation.

The organization is recognizing the transition of its founding voice, Why Not Charleston founder Kathy Lewis to the seat of Legacy Advisor.

In Lewis’ own words, “Legacy is not measured by what we build for ourselves, but by what we leave in the hands of others. If Christ remains at the center, hope will always outlive the one who first carried it. My prayer has never been to build a platform, but to help build a people whose lives reveal the Gospel wherever they are called.” We believe it is in the shared connectivity of our story that legacy can provide a foundation for growth, and we are honored to have Kathy stay on in an advisory role amidst so many exciting initiatives launching to galvanize the needs of the people of South Carolina.

It was Lewis, whose simple question, “Why not?” when presented with any hurdles to healing and the gospel, birthed Why Not Charleston, an organization unlike others in its posture, practice, and outcomes. The work of that organization provided both the undergirding for what is now known as One HOPE SC and additionally, a body of her own thought work known as the Promise-Informed Mindset.

Today, One Hope SC thanks and honors Lewis for her determination, passion for the gospel and unwavering desire to see communities healed and whole by pursuing God first. Lewis continues her legacy of service through her ongoing work as CEO and Thought Leader of The Promise Group.
