We Hope in Him for South Carolina

It is a humbling honor to be invited by the board and staff to serve as the new Executive Director of One HOPE SC.

Stepping into this role, I’ve been reflecting on why our collective work matters so much right now as the body of Christ. The need for One HOPE SC has never been more evident, and I am inspired every day by the dedication I see across our state.

Having had the privilege to serve in various efforts for the people of our beautiful communities, I am always in awe of the specific callings God has placed on individuals and groups to recognize different needs and use their gifts to step out in faith and offer them for service. 

When I think about One HOPE SC, Nehemiah is the place God keeps brining me to- a people willing to seek Him obediently and pray for their land, serve in their specific areas and see an abundance of provision poured leading to renewed faith covenant and a land healed. In true God-ordained timing, my personal church began an entire series on just this book as I was beginning this work to ensure I did not miss it.

“Please remember what you told your servant Moses: ‘If you are unfaithful to me, I will scatter you among the nations. But if you return to me and obey my commands and live by them, then even if you are exiled to the ends of the earth, I will bring you back to the place I have chosen for my name to be honored." Neh 1: 8-9

It is my belief that should so many of these efforts simply be able to trust God together, work through the commonality of their goals yet specific assignment, statistics and roadblocks will change in unimaginable ways across our communities.

One HOPE SC serves as a statewide platform that brings together prayer, leadership development, strategic partnerships, and community engagement around a shared belief that the Gospel offers hope for every challenge facing our state.

LOOKING AHEAD

As we embark on this new chapter, our focus will be on:

• Growing Deeper: We will begin with one model county- Jasper County. The fastest growing county in the entire nation depending on the day will be our launch of deeply rooted efforts to connect all segments of community involvement engaged collectively for success.

• Laser Focus: Our first goal is to create a change in the educational outcomes of the students of South Carolina. That begins with these efforts providing complete wraparound care for the children and families in each county.

• Beginning with Prayer: We believe real transformation is not in our own hands but in our submission of our ideas, goals and visions to God’s authority. We will begin everything we do in prayer, believing in His abundance and multiplication of all we do.

None of this work is possible without you. Your support, advocacy, and passion are the true engines behind One HOPE SC. I can’t wait to partner with each of you as we DISCOVER, DEVELOP, and DEPLOY gospel-driven efforts for the benefit of the people and future of South Carolina.
